Thomas Carnegie was at the 4th Australian General hospital at Randwick along with many badly injured fellow patients from the First World War.
In 1927 Thomas Carnegie married Clarie McNab whose family lived at 65 Spencer Road Mosman. When they married they built a house at 9 Middle Head Road and this became the family home for the Carnegies for almost 80 years.
He was living at Burrandong, 65 Spencer Road, Mosman in May 1917 (Folio 17, WW1 Dossier).
