His parents moved to Fernleigh, 27 Glover Street, Mosman some time after 1918.  They lived in North Sydney and then Roslyn Gardens, Rushcutters Bay prior to that.

His brothers Cuthbert Herman Scott and Alexander Vincent Scott also served in World War 1.
