An engineer who had arrived at London on 20 August 1914 then enlisted in the British Army in September 1914. He served with the 9th Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment at Gallipoli (Cape Helles and Anzac Cove), the Sinai and Mesopotamia.
He was appointed an officer and was wounded in action while in France in October 1917.
He embarked at Liverpool. England for Australia on 4 January 1918 returning via Canada and arriving on 17 February 1918. [JSB]
