Born: 25 January 1893
A jeweller who enlisted in the AIF on 3 January 1916. He embarked for England on 7 October and arrived on 21 November 1916.
He joined the 30th Battalion at Montauban-de-Picardie, France on 11 February 1917. Ten days later he was evacuated to hospital in France then England suffering from haemorrhoids. Following treatment and convalescence, on 23 January 1918 he rejoined the 30th Battalion then in a rest area at Desvres, France.
He embarked for Australia on 22 May 1919 and arrived on 22 July then was discharged from the AIF on 29 August 1919. [JSB]
