A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 2 March 1915. He embarked for Egypt on 25 June with the 19th Battalion and arrived on 23 July 1919.
He landed at Gallipoli with the 19th on 21 August and was wounded (leg and arm) in action on 4 October 1915. He was evacuated to England for treatment and convalescence.
He joined the 53rd Battalion, then near Fleurbaix, France on 9 October 1916. He was wounded (head and leg) in action on 6 March 1917 at Trones Wood (Bois des Trones) south of Longueval, France and died three days later at the 1/1st South Midland Casualty Clearing Station at Dernancourt, France.
He was living in Glover Street, Mosman at the time of his enlistment. [JSB]
