A shearer who enlisted in the AIF on 4 January 1917. He embarked for England on 21 June and arrived on 26 August 1917.
He joined the 39th Battalion on 13 December 1917. He was wounded (hip) in action on 13 August 1918 and evacuated for treatment and convalescence to Rouen, France. He rejoined his unit on 20 September.
He embarked for Australia on 10 April 1919 and arrived on 31 May then was discharged from the AIF on 30 August 1919. [JSB]
