A professional soldier in the Australian Garrison Artillery who enlisted in the AIF on 10 June 1915. He embarked on 17 July 1915 for England with the Siege Artillery Brigade made up of Australian Military Force personnel.
His unit was redesignated the 36th Heavy Artillery Group as part of the British Royal Garrison Artillery. It arrived in the northern France in late February 1916.
He embarked for Australia on 11 May 1919 and arrived on 3 July then was discharged from the AIF on 30 August 1919. [JSB]
