A hairdresser who enlisted in the AIF on 28 March 1916. He embarked for England on 25 October and arrived on 28 December 1916.
He joined the 56th Battalion in France on 1 January 1918. Two weeks later he was evacuated to hospital sick and on 31 January he was evacuated to England for further treatment and convalescence. He remained in England until his return to Australia.
He departed on 22 December 1919 and arrived on 9 February 1920 and was then discharged from the AIF on 25 March 1920.
He married Norah Dorothy McCalla on 31 October 1917 at Salisbury. Wiltshire. [JSB]
