An electrician who enlisted in the AIF on 31 May 1916. He embarked for Egypt on 9 May 1917 and arrived on 25 June 1917.
He initially served with the 1st Australian Cavalry Division Signal Squadron. On 23 May 1918 he was transferred to the 1st Australian Wireless Signal Squadron and was deployed to Bagdad and Basra in present day Iraq.
On 17 August 1918, he embarked at Port Said, Egypt for England where he went to a holding unit before joining the 1st Australian Division Signal Company in France on 6 December 1918.
He embarked for Australia on 16 June 1919 and arrived on 4 August 1919. He was discharged from the AIF on 11 September 1919. [JSB]
