A department manager who enlisted in the AIF on 10 August 1917. He embarked for England on 28 February 1918 and arrived on 20 April 1918.
He joined the 4th Battalion on 4 August 1918. He was wounded (right leg) in action on 13 September 1918 when his unit was near Peronne, France. He was one on the Battalion's nine casualties that day due to enemy shelling. After treatment in France, he returned to his battalion on 25 October 1918 by which time it had been out of the front line for a month, and would not see further action.
He embarked for Australia on 20 May 1919 and arrived on 4 July 1919. He was discharged from the AIF on 28 July 1919. [JSB]
