A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 25 March 1918. He embarked for England on 30 July and arrived on 13 October 1918.
He was allotted as a reinforcement for the 55th Battalion and commenced training for service in France. On 11 December he was attached to and then, on 19 February 1919, transferred to the Australian Army Ordnance Corps at Codford, England. On 11 September he was transferred to the Disposal Board at AIF Headquarters, London.
He embarked for Australia on 17 April 1920 and arrived on 21 June then was discharged from the AIF on 22 July 1920. [JSB]
