A widowed trained nurse and clerk at the Land Titles Office who was appointed to the AIF on 1 October 1915. She embarked for Egypt as a reinforcement for the 2nd Australian General Hospital on 10 November 1915.

Following her service in Egypt, she transferred to the British Army Indian Nursing Service and arrived at Bombay on 12 July 1916. She was posted to hospitals in Bombay, Nasik and Bangalore as well as the Hospital Ship "Vita'. In March 1919, she became ill and it was decided that she should return to Australia as she was "very run down and ... in a debilitated condition".

She embarked on 13 April 1919 and arrived on 13 May then her appointment in the AIF was terminated on 13 September 1919.

She was awarded the Royal Red Cross Decoration 2nd Class "in recognition of her valuable nursing services in India in connexion (sic) with the war". [JSB]
