Biographical Summary:
Eldest son of Isabella Male, Addison Street, West Goulburn, previously of Orange.
A letter in his service records from Arthur Everitt, Kiosk, Balmoral Beach, Mosman, says "for years he made his home with us and looked on us as his parents." The same letter says "he was known as the champion bomb thrower of the 18th Battalion."
Wounded (bullet wound, jaw) 27 August 1915, Gallipoli.
Killed in action, Battle of Pozières, bombing party assaulting German trenches, probably the attack on Munster Alley with the British 23rd Division. [JSB]
