Biographical Summary:
Private William G. Carney, of D Company, 34th Battalion, who died of wounds on April 8, 1918, at the age of 20 years, enlisted early in 1917, and left In May, 1917. He was a son of the late Mr. John Carney, well known in West Sydney and Mosman sporting circles, and of Mrs. Carney, of 42 Vista-street, Mosman. Private Carney was educated at the Moman Commercial School. His oldest brother, Herbert J. Carney, is on active service with the Anzac Mounted Column in Palestine.
