Biographical Summary:
A commercial traveller who enlisted in the AIF on 12 August 1914. He embarked for Egypt with the 1st Divisional Signals Company on 20 October 1914.
He landed at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. He was evacuated on 2 August to Egypt suffering from inguinal hernias. It was decided that he should return to Australia.
He embarked on 29 August 1915 and arrived on 1 October. He was treated for his hernias then was discharged medically unfit from the AIF on 29 September 1916. [JSB]
