Biographical Summary:
A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 17 July 1915 and embarked for Egypt on 6 September 1915.
He was joined the 20th Battalion as a reinforcement on 19 January 1916. The battalion landed at Marseilles, France on 25 March 1916 and immediately moved to northern France.
He was wounded (buttock) in action on 4 August 1916 and was evacuated to England for treatment and convalescence. He returned to France on 11 November and was admitted to the 3rd Canadian Hospital at Boulogne suffering from tonsillitis. He died on 1 December 1916 from pneumonia. [JSB]
