Biographical Summary:
A professional cyclist who enlisted in the AIF on 26 April 1915. He embarked for Egypt on 16 June 1915.
He joined the 3rd Battalion at Gallipoli on 30 July 1915 and was wounded (right leg) in action in the Battle of Lone Pine which started on 6 August. During the battle, the 3rd suffered very heavy casualties. He was evacuated on board the SS Siciliana and died of his wounds at sea on 12 August 1915. He was buried at Alexandria Military Cemetery.
At the time of his enlistment he lived at Manly but his mother moved to Mosman some time in 1916. [JSB]
