Biographical Summary:
A forester with the NSW Forestry Department who enlisted in the AIF on 6 March 1916. He embarked for England on 22 August and arrived on 13 October.
He joined the 13th Battalion on 16 December when it was out of the front line at Coisy, north of Amiens, France. He was wounded (head, heel) in action on 4 February at Geudecourt, France during an attack that captured the German front line trench. He was evacuated to England for treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 10 September and arrived on 13 November then was discharged from the AIF on 15 December 1917. [JSB]
