Biographical Summary:
A nurse who enlisted in the AIF in April 1915. She embarked for Egypt on 15 May 1915. She served with the 1st Australian General Hospital there and in Rouen, France. She was transferred in quick succession to the 2nd Australian Casualty Clearance Station (2nd ACCS) in February 1918, the 10th Stationary Hospital at St Omer, France in March 1918 and the 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital in England.
She met her future husband, Robert Cuthbert Grieve, VC, while he was being treated at the 2nd ACCS. She embarked for Australia on 21 April 1918, arrived on 7 June and was discharged from the AIF on 26 June. She was living at Mosman when she married on 17 August 1918. [JSB]
