Biographical Summary:
A train guard with NSW Government Railways who enlisted in the AIF on 28 February 1916. He embarked for England on 11 July and arrived on 9 September 1916.
He joined the 53rd Battalion on 1 January 1917 when it was in a rest area at Frencq north-west of Etaples, France. He was killed in action on 14 March 1917 at Le Transloy south-east of Bapaume, France.
His next of kin was his uncle, William George Paterson, who was a Senior Constable at Mosman Police Station. [JSB]
