Biographical Summary:
A horse driver who enlisted in the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (ANMEF) on 3 October 1918. He embarked for Rabaul on 18 December and arrived on 31 December 1918.
He initially served with the Rabaul Garrison then in June 1919 was transferred from regimental duties to the Department of Native Affairs. He returned to Australia on leave between March and June 1920. He contracted malaria which appears to have been the reason he returned to Australia.
He embarked on 18 February 1921 and arrived on 25 February. He required immediate treatment for his malaria then was discharged medically unfit on 21 April 1921. [JSB]
