Biographical Summary:
A nurse who enlisted in the AIF on 27 November 1916. She embarked for England on 9 May 1917 and arrived on 29 July 1917.
She was posted in August 1917 to Croydon War Hospital, London. In January 1918, she was transferred to the 1st Australian General Hospital at Rouen, France where she remained until May 1918 when she returned to England.
On 7 June 1918 she embarked for Australia as part of the nursing staff on the HMAT Essex. She arrived on 1 August 1918 and was discharged at her request on 15 August 1918.
Postwar, she enlisted in the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force (ANMEF) on 22 September 1919. She embarked for Rabaul on 9 October 1919. From May 1920 she was suffering from malaria and on 30 June 1920 she embarked for Australia. She arrived on 8 July 1920. She was discharged from the ANMEF on 8 October 1920. [JSB]
