Biographical Summary:
A drover who enlisted in the AIF on 18 December 1914. He embarked for Egypt on 5 April 1915.
He joined the 2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment at Gallipoli in August 1915 and was evacuated with concussion later that month, initially to Malta and then to England for treatment and convalescence.
He returned to Egypt in March 1916 and on 21 April he joined the 11th Field Artillery Brigade. His unit arrived at Marseille, Frances on 10 June 1916 and moved immediately to northern France. On 3 June 1918, he was transferred to the Reserve Brigade Australian Artillery in England.
He embarked for Australia on 2 January 1919 and arrived on 17 February then was discharged from the AIF on 23 April 1919. [JSB]
