Biographical Summary:
A flaxspinner who first enlisted in the AIF in March 1915. He was discharged three months later as medically unfit. He again enlisted in September 1915, aged 46. He left Australia in November 1915 as a reinforcement for the 20th Battalion but after arriving in Egypt he was transferred to the 56th Battalion. He was deemed medically unfit, suffering from general debility and artherio sclerosis, when he embarked for Australia in June 1916. He arrived on 18 July and was discharged medically unfit from the AIF in August 1916. [JSB]
