Biographical Summary:

A carpenter who enlisted in the AIF on 5 May 1916. He embarked for England on 24 August and arrived on 12 October 1916.

He joined the 1st Pioneer Battalion at Mametz, France on 7 February 1917. He was evacuated from near Ypres, Belgium to hospital in France on 7 October and then to England with goiter.

He embarked for Australia on 25 November 1917 and arrived on 13 January 1918. Following further treatment he was discharged from the AIF on 23 March 1918. [JSB]
