Biographical Summary:
A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 6 May 1915. He embarked for Egypt with the 3rd Australian General Hospital (AGH) on 15 May 1915.
After arriving in Egypt, the 3rd AGH moved to Mudros, Lemnos, Greece where it provided medical support for those serving at Gallipoli. The unit returned to Egypt on 27 January 1916 and remained operational there until October 1916 when it moved to England.
He had embarked in advance for England on 25 September. He arrived with the 3rd AGH at Abbeville, France on 11 April 1917. In February 1918, his was reclassified as unfit for service in France and was transferred to England.
He embarked for Australia on 20 October 1918 and arrived on 19 December then was discharged medically unfit from the AIF on 30 July 1919. [JSB]
