Biographical Summary:
A commercial traveller who enlisted in the AIF on 29 April 1915. He embarked for Egypt with the 8th Field Ambulance on 10 November and arrived on 20 January 1916.
He arrived at Marseilles, France on 23 June 1916 and his unit moved immediately to Abbeville in northern France. On 11 March 1917 he was transferred to K Supply Column, 1st Anzac Corps but continued to serve on attachment with the 8th Field Ambulance.
In November, he was transferred to the 5th Australian Divisional Supply Column which in March 1918 was absorbed into the 5th Australian Divisional Mechanical Transport Company. The following month he was transferred to the 1st Australian Siege Battery Ammunition Column.
He embarked for Australia on 8 May 1919 and arrived on 26 June then was discharged from the AIF on 18 August 1919. [JSB]
