Biographical Summary:
Served and wounded at Gallipoli. Returned to Australia in May 1916 to complete medical course at Sydney University.
University of Sydney Book of Rembrance entry reads:
"SUSMAN, ERIC LEO, M.B., Ch.M., M.R.C.P., F.R.A.C.P. : Lance-Sergeant, 13th Battn., A.I.F., Gallipoli and Egypt. Enlisting 9th September, 1914, and sailing 22nd December, served from the Anzac Landing until wounded 2nd May, 1915, and evacuated to hospital. On recovery was on Suez Canal Defences from January to May, 1916, returning to Australia 29th June. Hon. Lecturer in Medicine and Therapeutics. Early education at Sydney Church of England Grammar School. Later one year in Arts." [JSB]
