Biographical Summary:

Enlisted in November 1915 at the age of 14 years, 10 months.  He served with the 6th Field Artillery Brigade between May 1916 and April 1917.  He was transferred to the 1st Australian General Hospital in Rouen, France because he was under age.  He served there until April 1918 when he was returned to Australia for being under age.

Born Eric Gavin Fairland who was adopted into the Crew family.  [JSB]
