Biographical Summary:
Enlisted the AIF in December 1915. He joined the 7th Field Artillery Brigade in France in September 1916. On 3 October 1917, he was gassed and needed to be evacuated to England for treatment and convalescence. He returned to the front line in April 1918. He was again gassed on 10 June 1918 and again evacuated to England, where he remained until embarking in February 1919 to return to Australia. He was discharged from the AIF in June 1919. [JSB]
