Dudley Bartram Carver
(Confirmed)
Born: 20 January, 1894
Died: 26 May, 1973
Biographical Summary:
Edward James and Bertha Marion Carver had three sons enlist – Dudley Bartram Carver, Bernard William Bartram Carver and Sterling Dando Carver. Base on their service records, it is likely that the letter reported in the Sydney Morning Herald on 28 March 1917 (see source) was written by Dudley who at the time was serving with an artillery unit in France. Around this time, his brother Sterling was serving in the Middle East with the 12th Light Horse and his brother Bernard was attached to Anzac Headquarter in France.
A letter dated 19 March 1946, from Dudley B. Carver, of 75 Belmont Road, reports his returned soldier's badge as missing, and requests a replacement.
I have not previously applied for renewal because I also hold a returned Sailors badge for Service in German New Guinea in 1914, but as the duration of this service was so much less than my A.I.F. Service I feel I should try and obtain the A.I.F. badge again.
