Biographical Summary:
A share farmer who enlisted in the AIF on 13 April 1917. He embarked for the UK on 2 August and arrived on 2 October 1917.
He joined the 35th Battalion, which was in a rest area near Ploegsteert, Belgium, on 8 February 1918. He was wounded (mouth) in action on 4 April 1918 at Villers-Bretonneux when there was a massive German attack on the town. He was evacuated to England for treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 21 December 1918 and arrived on 4 February then was discharged medically unfit from the AIF on 6 April 1919. [JSB]
