Biographical Summary:
Served with the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force in Rabaul between August 1914 and January 1915 prior to enlisting in the Australian Imperial Force in May 1915. He was wounded in action at Gallipoli on 24 August 1915 while serving with the 18th Battalion. He was invalided to Australia in March 1916 after treatment at Mudros and London.
He again left Australia in February 1917 and, after training postings in England, returned to the 18th Battalion in November 1917. He was admitted to hospital with influenza on 11 November 1918 and died at Rouen on 21 November 1918. [JSB]
