Biographical Summary:
A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 23 May 1916. He was appointed a Second Lieutenant on 29 January and embarked for England on 10 February arriving on 11 April 1917.
He joined the 1st Battalion on 31 July at Wallon-Cappel, France. He was wounded (arm and side) on 15 September at Ouderdom, Belgium and evacuated to hospital in France. On 31 December he was evacuated to England for further treatment and convalescence. Due to the severity of his arm fracture it was decided that he should return to Australia.
He embarked on 16 March 1918 and arrived on 24 May. He received further treatment then his appointment in the AIF was terminated on 24 November 1918. [JSB]
