Biographical Summary:
Served with the Naval component of the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force between August 1914 and March 1915.
Enlisted in the AIF in July 1916 and went on to serve with the 45th Battalion. He was twice wounded in action. These wounds were not severe and on both occasions he was out of action for a short time before returning to the front line. [JSB]
