Biographical Summary:
An artesian well-borer who enlisted in the AIF on 29 December 1916. He embarked for England on 24 January and arrived on 27 March 1917.
He joined the 45th Battalion in Belgium on 30 September 1917. He was wounded (right elbow) in action near Dernancourt, France on 5 April 1918. He was evacuated to hospital in France where his arm was amputated. He was then evacuated to England for further treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 31 July 1918 and arrived on 29 September then was discharged medically unfit from the AIF on 4 June 1919. [JSB]
