Biographical Summary:

Served with the Australian Naval and Military Expeditionary Force and contracted malaria while stationed in New Ireland, New Guinea.  He enlisted in the AIF but did not leave Australia as he was discharged medically unfit due to the effects of the malaria on his health.  [JSB]
