Biographical Summary:
A student who was awarded the University of Sydney’s 1912 Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University. He was appointed to a commission in the British Army and served with the Royal Army Service Corps.
The following is from Beyond 1914-The University of Sydney and the Great War:
“Albert James Robson, B.Sc.; B.A. (Oxon.) : Captain, R.A.S.C., Gallipoli, Egypt and Palestine. Enlisting at Aldershot 12th April, 1915, and sailing 29th May, served at Cape Helles from 21st June to 3rd January, 1916, in Egypt to September, 1917, and in Palestine to November, 1919, returning to Australia on demobilisation in January, 1920.”
He embarked for Australia in December 1919 and arrived on 9 January 1920. [JSB]
