Biographical Summary:
A labourer who enlisted in the AIF on 17 December 1914. He embarked for Egypt on 11 February 1915.
He joined the 4th Battalion at Gallipoli on 5 May 1915. Following the withdrawal from Gallipoli he returned to Egypt on 29 December 1915.
He was transferred to the Camel Corps on 30 January 1916. He was wounded (right arm) in action near Gaza, Palestine on 19 April 1917 and evacuated to hospital for treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 28 July 1917 and arrived on 30 August then was discharged medically unfit from the AIF on 8 December 1917. [JSB]
