Biographical Summary:
A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 11 September 1917. He embarked for England on 28 February and arrived on 20 April 1918.
He joined the 35th Battalion on 31 July 1918 at Daours, France. At the start of the 100 Days Offensive on 8 August, the Battalion attacked from Hamel and made rapid progress to the east over the following weeks. He was wounded (neck) in action on 28 August in an attack at Fargny Wood near Curlu. He was evacuated to England for treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 3 July 1919 and arrived on 19 August then was discharged from the AIF on 12 September 1919. [JSB]
