Biographical Summary:
A milk carter who enlisted in the AIF on 10 September 1917. He embarked for England on 19 December and arrived on 13 February 1918.
On 12 May 1918, he joined the 18th Battalion then in the front line at Franvillers, France. He was wounded (right shoulder) in action near Lamotte-Warfusee east of Villers-Brettoneux on 9 August, the second day of the Hundred Days Offensive. He was evacuated to England for treatment and convalescence.
He embarked for Australia on 10 December 1918 and arrived on 15 February then was discharged medically unfit on 29 March 1919. [JSB]
