Biographical Summary:
An accountant with the Union Steam Ship Company who enlisted in the AIF on 20 September 1915. He embarked for Egypt on 17 December 1915.
He initially joined the 20th Company, Australian Army Service Corps (AASC) at Ismailia, Egypt then was transferred to the 2nd Anzac Corps Headquarters on 9 May 1916. He arrived at Marseilles, France on 13 June and immediately moved to Hazebrouck and then Bailleul in northern France.
On 15 February 1918 he was transferred back to the 20th Company AASC until 17 May when he was transferred to Australian Corps Headquarters.
He embarked for Australia on 2 August 1919 and arrived on 22 September then was discharged from the AIF on 15 November 1919. [JSB]
