Biographical Summary:
A surveyor who enlisted in the AIF on 29 July 1915. He embarked for Egypt on 16 February and arrived on 22 March 1916.
He was allotted on 1 April to the 54th Battalion which arrived at Marseilles, France on 29 June 1916. He was killed in action on 19 July 1916 at the Battle of Fromelles. He was among the 534 casualties suffered by the 54th Battalion; nearly two thirds of its fighting strength.
He was living in Want Street, Mosman at the time of his enlistment. [JSB]
