Biographical Summary:
A grocer who enlisted in the AIF on 16 January 1916. He embarked for England on 9 April and arrived on 10 June 1916.
He joined the 30th Battalion on 26 September 1916 at Houplines east of Armentieres, France. He was evacuated to hospital in France 20 September 1917 suffering from bunions. In November he was classified as unfit for front line service and was transferred to England in December.
He embarked for Australia on 30 January 1918 and arrived on 21 March then was discharged from the AIF on 24 April 1918. [JSB]
