Biographical Summary:
A mechanic who enlisted in the AIF on 5 August 1915. He embarked for Egypt on 13 October 1915.
He joined the permanent staff of the 4th Training Battalion in Egypt on 4 March 1916 and later moved with the unit to England. He joined the 13th Battalion at Coisy, France on 19 December 1916. He returned to England on 7 April 1917 in order to return to Australia “for family reasons”. This was probably linked to his brother, William Arthur Pinnock, being killed in action at Pozieres, France on 30 August 1916.
He embarked on 4 May 1917 and arrived on 5 July then was discharged from the AIF on 21 August 1917. [JSB]
