Biographical Summary:
A dairy farmer who enlisted in the AIF on 2 February 1917. He embarked for Egypt on 10 May and arrived on 20 June 1917.
Following further training, he joined the 7th Australian Light Horse Regiment on 21 January 1918.
On 27 November 1918 he embarked at Kantara (El-Qantara), Egypt for Gallipoli where the Brigade was sent to secure part of the peninsula from possible Turkish military action as well as to locate Turkish military stores. On 20 January the Brigade embarked for Egypt and arrived on 22 January 1919.
He embarked for Australia on 28 June and arrived on 3 August 1919 then was discharged from the AIF on 3 September 1919. [JSB]
