Biographical Summary:
A grazier who enlisted in the AIF on 3 December 1914. He embarked for Egypt on 19 December 1914 with 1st Australian Veterinary Section.
After arriving in Egypt in early 1915 he served with his unit until detached to the 14th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB) on 3 April 1916. The 14th FAB arrived at Marseille, France on 27 June 1916 and moved immediately to northern France. On 16 September 1916 he was transferred to the 5th Mobile Veterinary Section but remained attached to the 14th FAB.
In December he was transferred to the British 2nd Veterinary Hospital at Le Havre. On 29 March 1917 he was transferred to the newly established Australian Veterinary Hospital at Coquelles outside Calais, France.
He embarked for Australia on 9 December 1918 and arrived on 22 January then was discharged from the AIF on 24 March 1919. [JSB]
