Biographical Summary:
A clerk who enlisted in the AIF on 1 September 1914. He embarked for Egypt with the 1st Battalion on 18 October and arrived on 5 December 1914.
The Battalion landed at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. He was wounded (head) in action on 6 August at the Battle of Lone Pine and evacuated to Egypt for treatment and convalescence. He rejoined the Battalion on 29 December following its return to Egypt.
The 1st Battalion landed at Marseilles, France on 28 March and immediately moved to northern France. He was killed in action at Pozieres, France between 23 and 25 July 1916.
His wife was living at Mosman at the time of his death. [JSB]
