Biographical Summary:
A professional soldier in the Australian Garrison Artillery who enlisted in the AIF on 5 June 1915. He embarked on 17 July 1915 for England with the Siege Artillery Brigade made up of Australian Military Force personnel.
His unit was redesignated the 36th Heavy Artillery Group as part of the British Royal Garrison Artillery. It arrived in the northern France in late February 1916.
He was attached to AIF Headquarters in London from February to July 1919 working in the Repatriation and Demobilisation Department.
He embarked for Australia on 23 August 1919 and arrived on 13 October then was discharged from the AIF on 6 January 1920. [JSB]
