Biographical Summary:
A clerk who was appointed on 20 October 1915 as a Lieutenant with the 5th Field Artillery Brigade (FAB) which departed for Egypt on 18 November and arrived on 18 December 1915.
He was transferred on 13 March to the 14th FAB which arrived at Marseilles, France on 30 June 1916 and immediately moved to northern France. On 14 August 1917 he was transferred to the 6th FAB and soon after was promoted to Captain. He was wounded in action near Harbonnieres on 20 June 1918 but remained on duty.
On 20 October 1918 he was transferred and promoted to command a battery of the 4th FAB.
He embarked for Australia on 1 May and arrived on 11 June, then his appointment in the AIF was terminated on 3 August 1919. [JSB]
